The current members of the Regional Council Oceania are:

Fr Trevor Trotter

Fr Trevor Trotter was ordained to the Columban priesthood in 1970. His first mission appointment was to the Philippines. He has spent five years in Hong Kong on the General Council and has worked as a Scripture Lecturer and in the formation of seminarians in Sydney and the United States. Until 2018, he worked with Fr Dan Ryan, Vicar for Clergy in Brisbane Archdiocese, providing spiritual direction for the clergy as well as being involved in the formation of deacons.

Fr John McEvoy is from Ireland and has been a missionary in Fiji since 1972. He is the Columban Leader in Fiji.


Council member - Fr Peter O'Neill

Fr Peter O'Neill SSC

Fr Peter O’Neill is the Columban Leader in Australia and is also the Peace, Ecology and Justice Co-ordinator for Australia. He returned to Australia in 2017 after working in Taiwan for 26 years with the poor and abused migrant workers and trafficked peoples. He is now a member of ACRATH [Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans], Pax Christi and the Melbourne Laudato Si' animators group. 

Fr Thomas Rouse SSC

Fr Thomas Rouse SSC

Fr Thomas (Tom) Rouse is the Columban leader in New Zealand. He was ordained to the Columban priesthood on 8 May 1976. Fr Rouse was appointed to Fiji in 1976, where he spent most of his missionary life. In 2014 he was appointed Mission Coordinator of St Columbans, Lower Hutt, in New Zealand.

Council member - Fr Frank HoareFr Frank Hoare SSC

Columban Fr Frank Hoare is from Ireland and was assigned to Fiji in 1973 after his ordination. He is currently working as the formator of Columban seminarians in Fiji.
