Come and See Events

Fr. Frank with some candidates at a recent Come and See DayCome and See Events will be organized in centers in Fiji, Tonga, Solomon Islands and Kiribati. If you feel you have a special calling to join the missionary life and want to know more about Columban missionary vocation, you are welcome to attend one of our Come and See Events.

Accompaniment Program and Discernment Stages

Young men attending the Come and See Events are informed about the Accompaniment Program and the Vocations Coordinator visits the families of those who apply. Only those who have passed form 7, and have an IQ of 104 or above will be accepted into the Accompaniment Program. If qualified, we invite you to take part in this Program for 10 months while still studying or working at home.  At the end of the Program the Vocations Coordinator helps those successful applicants to discern whether to apply to enter the Columban Propaedeutic Program.

Formation Process

Those who are invited to apply to join the Propaedeutic Program must pass (achieve at least 50%) the PRS English exam. The accepted applicant normally attends the two PRS Propaedeutic terms and a program suited to each one will be organized for the February to May term. They will spend a few months in Suva attending Pacific Regional Seminary. Those students who successfully complete the Propaedeutic year in May will move to the Columban Formation House in Manila, Philippines to prepare for Philosophy at Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University.
