With the rising sea level, most of the villages and islands surrounded by sea are directly affected by sand erosion.

Our Columban Companions and their families in Tarawa, came together and planted mangroves on Saturday 25th September, 2021.  The group included parents, youth and children. Mangroves safeguard our lives, our shorelines from damaging storm, strong winds and waves.  Mangroves also protect people when flooding and sand erosion.

Many thanks to our companions for teaching our children to build a clean and healthy environment. Nature is happy when we humans are happy; Let us be just and fair to one another. We want to save life and not to destroy. Let us renew our home and environment.
