Monday of the Nineteenth Week of Ordinary Time : Avoid Offending Another

Gospel Reading : Matthew 17:27

“But that we may not offend them, go to the sea, drop in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up. Open its mouth and you will find a coin worth twice the temple tax. Give that to them for me and for you.”

My humble Lord, fill my heart with true humility.
Help me to turn away from unimportant conflicts in life, even to the point of embracing injustice in a sacrificial way.
May I never claim my rights over the joy of embracing deep humility.
Jesus, I trust in You.
Amen.
