The stories in "A Missionary Diary" are incidents that caught my fancy while on mission in Fiji. They tell of special people and events I encountered, aspects of culture I discovered, the variety of missionary work I experienced, and insights into myself, life, and God. I have often changed names and details of context to preserve the innocent (as is said). Many of these stories were written soon after they happened and some were written later from memory.
I have written the stories for myself to celebrate the life with which God gifted me. I hope they will be also of interest to relatives, friends and supporters of Columban mission. But they are especially meant for the people of Fiji as an appreciation their cultural and religious richness. I hope that they contribute to a deeper mutual understanding and appreciation of the different ethnic communities in Fiji.
