St Pius X Parish Youth experience a Revival Weekend of Choice, Faith and Renewal was held at the Marist Champagnat Institute on July 10-12, 2026.
The weekend was facilitated by the Archdiocese of Suva Choice Team initiated by Kristina Foliaki, a former parish youth member, and Naanise Mo’unga, a Columban Lay Missionary assigned to the parish. Its purpose was to revive and strengthen the youth people of the parish through faith, fellowship and reflection.
The weekend brought together 17 young people for a meaningful time of prayers, reflection, fellowship, sharing and spiritual renewal. It gave them an opportunity to step away from their daily routines, social media and familiar surroundings, so they could reconnect with Christ, strengthen friendships and reflect more deeply on their lives and the choices they make.
Through Choice Weekend programmed, paarticipants were encouraged to make positive and responsible choices as they grow into better citizens and responsible members of society. They were also invited to discern their path in life, recognize God’s presence throughout their journeys, and consider how they might respond to God’s call.
The Youth Revival also encouraged the young people to rediscover their identity and vocation as members of the Church. The experience reminded them that they have an important role to play in the life and mission of the parish. They are called to be witnesses of Christ in their families, communities, and wider society.
The weekend concluded with a moving reconciliation between the young people and their parents, followed by a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Vincent Ratnam, SSC. This was fitting to a weekend of renewal and thanksgiving, bringing together the young people and their families and all those who accompanied them in prayer and celebration.
A heartfelt vinaka vakalevu goes to the Archdiocese Choice Team, Kristina Foliaki and everyone who contributed their time, energy, resources and support to make this weekend possible.
Let say this is the beginning. When support is needed, let us ask for it and connect with those who can help turn ideas into action.
May the joy and spirit of this Revival and Choice Weekend continue to inspire our young people to grow in faith, make life-giving choices, serve others, and take an active role in the life and mission of St Pius X Parish, Raiwaqa.
