Iowane Ilaidoko Naio is the third of ten children of Mr Isake Amoka of Nakoroboya, Ba, and the late Mrs Mariana Naidole, also of Nakoroboya, Ba. He is a mechanic by trade and worked for Asco Motors, Nadi, before joining the Missionary Society of St Columban in 2014.
He then attended the Pacific Regional Seminary for two years and two school terms before moving to Manila in August 2016. He studied Theological Studies at the Loyola School of Theology for four years and Columban Spirituality for one year. In 2019, he was assigned to the Parish of the Holy Archangel in Lima, Peru, where he spent two years. He returned to Manila in May 2023 to complete his studies. On September 16th, 2023, he was ordained to diaconate at the Columban International Theologate House in Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines. He returned to Fiji on September 20th, 2023 and has been doing pastoral work at the Holy Family Parish, Labasa.
