First Columban Ordinations in Fiji - 1994

The first Columban ordinations in Fiji took place in 1994. Fr. Iowane Gukibau was ordained in Lami in November.

The Columbans decided to close their mission in Brazil, because of a decreasing number of priests, so Fr. Iowane was appointed to Peru. He spent over ten years there before returning to Fiji as Vocation Director, and then after obtaining a licentiate in missiology in Rome he returned to be a Columban formator in Suva and to teach in PRS.
Fr. Iowane Gukibau was again assigned to Peru where he is currently serving.
