Fr Paddy Laffan

Fr Paddy Laffan was famous among Columbans for volunteering to become a hostage prisoner of the Communists in China in 1930 until ransomed by Bishop Galvin after seven months in captivity. He came to Fiji at the age of 62 years. He was appointed Parish Priest of the new Nausori (cut off from Samabula) in 1964.
