Interfaith Members Join to Celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Siri Guru Nanak at Nasinu Sikh Gurudwara, Suva

I was privileged to be part of this celebration and the connection was very much related to Interreligious Dialogue collaboration. The religious leader Mr. Bhupendra Singh welcomed the guests from the Sanatan faith, Focolare group and the Columban’s to their most sacred day to celebrate together through prayers, hymns and the messages of peace and service, to reach out for his blessings on his birth anniversary.

Guru Nanak Ji was recognized as a founder/spiritual leader and believed in spreading peace, so he wrote Guru Granth Sahib Ji which is a holy scripture of Sikhs. He made people understand that God is present everywhere. This celebration is one of the most sacred days in Sikhism and celebrated across the world. All the devotees get involved in various religion and spiritual activities on this auspicious day.

At the end of the celebration, the important message shared was equality of all people, regardless of their caste, religion or gender, everyone is created by God’s will and therefore we must be treated equally and with respect.

It was a successful event with an amazing sense of friendliness until the delicious moment of the meal together.
