Religious leaders were invited to speak on their religion, religious culture and tradition and festivals.

Christian community members/religious leaders.

On 12th of February 2025, I organized an enriching interreligious/Interfaith dialogue held at the Columban Central House, conference room to foster greater understanding and appreciation among different faith communities. The event brought together religious leaders from Hinduism and Islam to share insights into their faiths, cultures, and religious festivals. The main focus was on educating the Christian community about the Hindu festival of Holi and the Muslim celebration of Eid.

Mr. Hasan Khan from the Fiji Muslim League introduced the Christian audience the significance of Eid, one of the most important celebrations in Islam.  Mr. Hasan Khan mentioned the festivals brings community together, strengthens the bonds among families, encourage acts of charity and serve as moments of spiritual renewal. Following this, Mr. Bhuwan Dutt began by offering a warm introduction to the Christians, emphasizing its rich history of tolerance and inclusivity. Mr. Bhuwan Dutt further explains this leads to broader vision of fostering a society based on truth, equality, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their background or belief.

After the presentations, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions, leading to a lively and respectful dialogue. We are grateful to both the Religious Leaders for their participation and valuable contributions.  The program concluded with vegetarian refreshments.
