Theme: Celebrating the Past, present and Future.
On 16th of June 2023, I attended this spiritual event at 9.00 am. His Grace Archbishop Peter Loy Chong of Suva was the main celebrant at Eucharist for “Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus” and opening of the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the school. This was organized by the students, ex-students, teachers, and the committee.
After the mass, the program continued with the Sevusevu by the students at Sacred Heart College and the Garlanding of the Chief Guest, Your Grace Peter Loy Chong. The Principal of the Sacred Heart College welcomed and thanked each one for participating in this event. Archbishop Peter Loy Chong highlighted a message in his speech that we need to tell the world about our vulnerability and care for our Environment and not only talk about Climate Change. For me this event was a great learning when I heard in the sermon that God is unseen but when there is love shown to our people that is where God is seen. This message reminded me in Interreligious Dialogue work, so many are in search for God.
The program concluded by cutting of the cake, morning tea and entertainments and lunch with kava barrel at 10.00pm.
