Thank you to the Almighty for the beauty of your Creation and the gift of another day
Our symbol for 2026 - Immersion in Living Water - is a symbol of renewal and birth: water flowing from the Temple as a sign of God’s caring and healing for us. We are called to step into the water, until we are so deep that we must depend on God’s grace to sustain us. Those who receive this water are invited to become sources of life for others, allowing God’s love to flow through them into the world. And thus, the water of God will become in us “a spring of water welling up to eternal life”, as Jesus promised (John 4:13).
As a shared witnesses from various faiths, this collaboration offers a visible and hopeful way to connect faith, biodiversity protection, and community responsibility during the Season of Creation. It invites churches and environmental partners alike to stand together for living waters: for rivers as well as oceans, for mangroves as well as reefs, for communities as well as species, and for a future in which faith is expressed not only in words, but in ecological custodianship. We remind community members and partners to walk with this journey through prayer, participation, hosting, accompaniment, and practical support.
Prayer: O God of life, you who cause the living waters to gush forth, we thank you for the ocean that surrounds us. Thank you for the waters of the Pacific, which feed our families, sustain our communities, and sustain life in all its richness. Teach us to respect these waters, to protect them with wisdom and humility, so that they may remain a source of blessing for generations to come. When challenges worry us, remind us that, like the river of Ezekiel, your grace can renew, heal and give life. Make us faithful guardians of your creation, attentive to the needs of our land and sea. May our lives be like these living waters, bringing peace, justice and hope around us. Amen.
