Finally, we have just completed a project which began in mid-December 2021, while I was still on a joint Disaster Operation in Labasa, Vanua Levu with the Caritas Disaster team of the Archdiocese of Suva.
In this picture, we are unloading this Disaster Container at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary parish at Nabala, Macuata. This was moved from The Holy Family parish in Labasa due to risks of flooding as we witnessed in the last major floods during TC Yasa December 2020. This container stores Wash kits and humanitarian items which is kept ready for distribution during any disaster in Vanua Levu.
From this operation, we saw the need to have one at Ba to serve the other half of the western side of Viti Levu since there is already one at mount saint Mary in Nadi. Thus I made the request and I’m really glad for the assistance from our Mission office to purchase one container like this to be stationed at Christ the King, parish in Ba to serve this need.
The project begins.
Sincere thanks to our team at Ba for the great work that they did under their Team leader Mr. Emil Muller and Fr Pat Colgan.
