On Human Rights and Civil Law

I was blessed to be invited to speak to about 80 participants on the topic - Solidarity & Strategizing through Alliances and Partnerships and presenting Case Studies that can support this. This training is for the 59 Communications Officers of the Methodist Church throughout Fiji coming from their 59 sectors or methodist missions. Together with this, are 25 reps from different NGOs that support and assist in the training of these officers who are the main people in the dissemination of information relating to the methodist church and how it can reach all levels of the congregation in Fiji.
To top it up, they learn about Human Rights and Law so that the Methodist church can apply them correctly as far as Democracy, Good Governance and Responsible citizenship is concerned within their own communities and this training is done annually to support these officers.
Furthermore all these communication Officers learn about the latest gadgets and software of digital communications which has greatly improved their Digital Mission of spreading the Kingdom of God and not only centralized to a few people or HQ. This is a great way of upskilling and empowering church members because the key to “ Effective evangelization is good and effective communications.”
And this is an area where our Columban Mission office and the Archdiocese of Suva has to invest in and improve at because we now live in the Information era and so we must be equally qualified and capable to sow the Good seeds in this digital field of the Lord.
