Our Responsibility to Protect one Another

We achieved another milestone on Friday 11/03/22.

We hosted the first high level meeting of the Pacific Human Rights Defender  Network working group which consists of the United Nation Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner, School of Law and Social Science, USP, Amnesty International and of course JPIC.

Our role is to build and to bring to life an organization that will consist of the whole Pacific / Oceania representatives that can offer support and protection for those organisations and individuals that stand and speaks for Justice.

It has been 3 years of hard work and its now coming together to materialize as it involves expertise and experience in this field to put this together and we are currently in the midst of it taking the lead role in protection of the environment and Indigenous people.

Again it is the support and willingness of our Mission office here at Nasese that is enabling this forum to take place here and this will be beneficial for the whole Pacific nations.

By engaging and networking with these other groups, we are able to bring our Columban perspectives and the value of the Gospel to influence the different platforms and strategies of how we can bring about Peace. And three of the important ones are here.

  1. 1 Human Rights
  2. Laws
  3. Education
