The Black Sand Mining project on the mouth of the Ba River delta is at a stalemate now with a temporary lease cease that Amex Mining company have applied due to “ operation difficulties” that it was facing. Mining has stopped for now. There is uncertainty and unfinished business here as damaged fishing grounds and ecosystem lies ruined without proper environment evaluation and analysis. The sand tailings or sand wastes that is pumped out after separation of magnetite sands has now formed huge sand mounts that have become islands.
That is why we have been fighting against this project because of its Impacts.
On satellite they look like dots but they are huge bigger than a football field.
Black Sand Island – Burial Grounds to many Innocent Creatures who have the Right to Life.
Nature is showing here that this is its Rightful place and it is also fighting back strongly.
And our Mission is to bring Justice, Peace and Integrity to all Creations as we are currently doing with communities of Nawaqarua, Natutu and Votua , Ba , Fiji.
