Appreciating God’s Creation through Conservation and preservation

Drawing inspiration from the creation of plants, vegetation, and fruit trees as described in the book of Genesis, the students of Saint Teresa took action by bringing various fruit trees and plants to plant during the session.

In alignment with the Laudato Si Campaign, the student has already potted plants well before the school holidays, to plant them during the first week back at school.

During their presentation, the students emphasised the vital role that plants and vegetation play in sustaining human life.  Recognising that humans rely on vegetables as herbivores, they expressed gratitude to God for His creation, as described in the book of Genesis on the fifth day.

Furthermore, the children highlighted the importance of conserving and preserving plant species to prevent them from becoming extinct, ensuring their existence for future generations.  They urged adults to consider the consequences of neglecting this responsibility, emphasising that the well-being of their children and grandchildren depends on the plants, vegetation and fruits we preserve today.

Echoing the message of Pope Francis in Laudato Si, the students emphasised that caring for our common home begins with each of us taking steps to preserve and conserve.  They identified trees as essential providers of oxygen and plants, vegetables, and fruits that sustain us.

By spreading awareness and advocating for the protection of god’s creation, the students are actively contributing to a more sustainable and harmonious future for all.
