The Year 8 students of St. Anne's Primary School believe that we are God's creation and that we have a sense of purpose, aligning closely with the teachings of Laudato Si and the Pope's call for the Care of our Common Home.
This profound belief not only shapes the students' understanding of their place in the world but also underscores their responsibility to protect and cherish the environment. Inspired by the Laudato Si message of stewardship and the Pope's urgent plea for environmental conservation, the Year 8 students are driven to action, recognizing that caring for our common home is a moral imperative.
By embracing the concept of being God's creation, the students understand that they are entrusted with the task of safeguarding the Earth and all its inhabitants. This belief fuels their commitment to sustainability, prompting them to adopt eco-friendly practices, advocate for environmental justice, and work towards a more harmonious relationship with nature.
Introducing Greta Sternberg's video on 'How Dare You' had a profound impact on the young girls of St. Anne's. The powerful message delivered by Greta sparked inspiration and motivation among the Year 8 students, prompting them to consider actionable steps they can take both individually and as a team.
Witnessing Greta's passionate delivery for the first time ignited a sense of empowerment and encouraged the students to think critically about the issues at hand. As a result, the students were inspired to create tangible action plans aimed at making a positive difference in their community and beyond. Greta's video served as a catalyst for change, inspiring the young girls of St. Anne's to become proactive agents of progress and social change.
Through their actions which are rooted in faith and environmental consciousness, the Year 8 students of St. Anne's Primary School embody the spirit of Laudato Si and the Pope's call for the Care of our Common Home, becoming stewards of creation and champions of a more sustainable future.
