Being appreciative of God's creation is akin to being thankful for your parents' efforts. Just as we express gratitude towards our parents for their love, care, and sacrifices in nurturing us, acknowledging and valuing the beauty and abundance of the natural world is a way of honouring the divine gifts bestowed upon us by our Creator.
In Makoi, the children of St John Bosco shows Gratitude as being a value that serves as a powerful reminder of the interconnectedness of all life and the importance of cherishing and preserving the blessings we have received. Just as they show appreciation for their parents' hard work and dedication and their teachers everyday caring, they are recognizing and respecting the wonders of creation where they continue to thank our Creator for the breath of life that surrounds them.
By cultivating a spirit of gratitude towards both their earthly caretakers and the divine architect of the universe, the children foster a deeper sense of connection, reverence, and responsibility towards the world in which they live in, especially our Mother Earth and Gods creations that lives within. Meditating on the video of the Canticle of the Sun, the children realised how privileged they are to believe in a living God, recognising Gods wonderful creations like the sun, moon, water, fire and air. Without such creations that God has created for a purpose for humankind, the children realised that they will not be able to survive on planet Earth.
The children of St John Bosco realises the importance of Gods creation in their lives and what it gives to Mother Earth in order for all living things to survive, they are thankful and appreciative and feel blessed to have a God who continually thinks of them. Laudato Si Omi Signore!
