3 Days Symposium 14 -16th August 2023. USP & Novotel – Lami - Part 1
What does Fiji’s political future look like? We know what it is like after 16 years of dictatorship.
This was the aim of the 3 days symposium - To provide a platform for discussion and debate on Fiji's ongoing political transformation, with an emphasis on proposed constitutional and legislative reforms, our National Debt and their implications for the nation's democratic future.
The symposium prioritize gender mainstreaming and inclusivity in all aspects of the discussions, ensuring that diverse perspectives are included.
By bringing together Government representatives, Political parties, scholars, policymakers, stakeholders, civil societies, NGOs, Faith Based Organisations, Youths and students, the symposium aims to foster a dynamic and inclusive dialogue that will contribute to a deeper understanding of Fiji's evolving political landscape, the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and the importance of fostering an inclusive approach in policymaking and implementation. This is the first time this is ever happening in Fiji after a long time.
We are thankful to Citizen Constitutional Forum(CCF) together with USP, the Australia National University and of course the support by Misereor for all of us to have this very important discussions.
USP ICT center was quite full with about 250 participants.
